A little back story makes this fairy tale even sweeter!
On our 1st Christmas together, I told Dennis I loved him on Christmas Eve and the next day we went hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We found a really cool spot and found a big boulder and wrote, Jen <3 Den 12-25-2005.
So we went to North Carolina for Christmas to see my family this year, and Dennis had it all planned. He was going to propose on the Blue Ridge Parkway as we were looking for our rock (or if we found it), but it was snowed in and we couldn't go there.
Then he was going to do breakfast in bed for me on my birthday... but since we got home so late the day before, I was exhausted, I accidentally set his alarm for 5:30pm, NOT AM - OOPS! So he was late for work... and we both had to rush out of here to
Then... as we were getting ready to go to Meghan's New Years Eve Party... We were running late, and I was getting flustered... Then he said, "That's a really pretty dress. Is it new?" I looked at him like... "No, I've had it for a few months." Then he said, "It looks like it is missing something." and I said, "Like what?" and he said "A belt maybe..." I looked at him like he was crazy (the dress had a scrunched, or runched middle section... lol) and then he said, "I know, It's missing this!" and he took out the ring!!!
At first I didn't realize what he was saying, but then it hit me! I started crying like a baby! I leaped all over him and was shaking like crazy! I couldn't wait to tell everyone, so we hurried to go to the party and I was so flustered I forgot to take my makeup bag with me to Meghans! So Meghan threw us an impromptu Engagement Party!
I still can't believe he managed to surprise me!!
