Flickr Account for Wedding Photo's & Thank you cards

Advice courtesy of bluebook.

Get a Flickr website for your wedding!! Pay for the "pro" account ($25 per year), and give people instructions in little business cards or post cards (we printed ours on Vistaprint as business cards, they doubled as escort cards). Remind people to upload their pictures (and video) by email and then send them these same business cards in their thank you cards.  Then continue to NAG them to no end.

I just got some pictures uploaded that captured moments no one else had, like my parents giving me a kiss when I came up to the aisle. I can't wait to make an album from these pictures!!

If you're curious, here's what it looks like later, after I put the pictures that people have uploaded and sorted them by category:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/dalieandmike/collections/72157623457407754/

This will also show you the difference in the quality of pictures you get if your friends are taking them (some had serious cameras too) versus hiring a professional photographer (although some of these could be much better pictures after some digital editing).

And here are the instructions I wrote up for people to upload:
1. Go to http://www.flickr.com/upload
2. Enter username [insert your username, like [email protected]] and password [insert a password that everyone will use, like ourwedding2010]
3. Select the pictures or videos to upload and go!

That's it! It's SUPER easy! After everyone's done uploading photos you can download this application (http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/72157622874451890/) and download all the photos (and video) at once to your computer. The photos will be in whatever HIGH resolution people took them in, which is the best part.

I plan to make a HUGE blurb album after, with all the "moments" from the wedding, probably 100+ pages :)

Bonus too, my cousin had uploaded his pictures the day after the wedding, which was like AMAZING because we could see the pictures so soon after!

BTW - if you're close to your wedding and haven't done the Flickr thing yet (I'm thinking of you Adri!) Don't stress out right now and do it, just create the account later and email people.  You can also include it in the thank you cards later.
